Greeting Friends,

Well, here we are finally getting closer to the end of this election season. I don’t know about you, but I will be thrilled when all this craziness is over and we can get back to what we call normal. I’m not one who discusses politics with others, however, I do feel with all the tension and fear people are expressing, it will be good to have it all over with, so we can move on and enjoy this month of November. Though, I do want to take a moment and ask you all to pray! Pray for our country and government as we go through this process. Voting is a right we were given and I do encourage you to go out and vote, and please keep on praying!

Then, after the elections we will be able to turn our attention to all the activities and beginning of the holiday seasons. The weather has changed and the first snow fall is not too far away as we move into this beautiful month. We have so much to look forward to as we get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving with our families and friends. I’m sure many of you have your traditions that everyone looks forward to each year; with my family, we go around the table and name something that we are thankful for, we have treasured this tradition as we have listened to the kids at the table list all that they are thankful for, which at the time when they were little they always mentioned things like the food, the dog, their toys, and sometimes Grandma. Now, as they have grown older, their lists seem to be a little different as well and of course the dogs are always listed along with family and friends. It is amazing how the things that matter to us most change with age. I think it’s because we realize how important the people in our lives are and how thankful we are to have them. If you have a tradition, I would love for you to share with me at some point and if you don’t have a tradition, take some time and think about what you are thankful for.

Sarah Young writes in her Jesus Calling devotional book for November 24th that:

“Thankfulness opens your heart to My Presence and your mind to My thoughts. You may still be in the same place, with the same set of circumstances, but it is as if a light has been switched on, enabling you to see from My perspective.”

So, remember to be thankful so that He can work within and continue to guide you on your path!

From my family to yours; have a Happy Thanksgiving!

God Bless ~ Pastor Jackie
